I note from my email alert that on Wednesday’s Money Box Live Ruth Alexander and a panel of guests examine the impact of financial abuse – where someone you know has excessive control over your money. It happens to people of all ages and genders and can be carried out by friends, families and carers which makes it difficult for some victims to admit or even recognise that there’s a problem.

Send your questions, comments or experiences of financial abuse by calling on 03700 100 444 from 1pm to 3.30pm on Wednesday, standard geographic charges from landlines and mobiles will apply. Or e-mail moneybox@bbc.co.uk now.

I am emailing to direct MoneyBox to AEA but wondered whether AEA has been approached and is already contributing or whether AEA members are aware in order to listen in and, where appropriate, contribute to this important debate? It will be interesting to see how much time is devoted to the topic and the approach taken.

    Kind regards
IAN MACARA, Partner, Solicitor, STEP, SFE, Dementia Friend Champion, OPG Panel Deputy, STEP Shortlisted Vulnerable Client Advisory Team of the Year 2016.
